How to Connect to Amazon RDS
This article explains how to connect to Amazon RDS from database migration and syncronization tools produced by Intelligent Converters.
Step 1. On RDS Dashboard select 'Instances' menu item in the left pane to view all available instances.
Step 2. Select the required instance, for example MS SQL.
Step 3. Locate 'Endpoint' field to get the connection string for selected instance (marked red on the screenshot below).
Step 4. Copy and paste endpoint string without port in 'MS SQL Server' field on 'Connect to Microsoft SQL server' wizard page of Intelligent Converters software. Enter username and password used for creating the AWS instance.
After these steps are completed, you will be able to connect to Amazon RDS database from Intelligent Converters software.
